I heard some Seramas making a ruckus, and went to investigate. There he was, about 4 feet of green rat snake. The suspect serpent even had feathers in his mouth! Caught red-handed (except, of course, he hasn't any hands).

I know that you don't make 4 feet of rat snake out of thin air, and I haven't been missing that many eggs, so I have reason to believe this snake has done good service in dealing with rodents (of usual size). Therefore, his sentence was banishment to the horse farm (no chickens over there, but plenty of rats). I may smell like a snake right now, but it is the odor of victory!

How good are the homing instincts of snakes?
Supposedly fairly good, but I'm hoping that the farm is far enough away that it won't be able to find its way back. If it does, a more permanent arrangement may be called for.How good are the homing instincts of snakes?
