Our road is drifted and pretty icy in spots. The Princess came back from the gym and says, "I'm late because I ditched the car on the way, and it took me a while to get out." We just went out for burgers, and she showed me where the 'incident' took place. Impressive! Took some skills to get out of that situation.

It drove OK so appears to be structurally fine. I'll look at the side tomorrow to see if it is scratched up. The area where it happened is along a hay field - fairly deep ditch, but not a lot of brush or any trees in the way. She said, "I did like you told me - kept rocking it back and forth until I got up enough momentum to drive out of the ditch." This area has an attraction for her vehicles. 25+ years ago she tried to miss a cat, hit a culvert, and blew two tires not far from where this happened.

Well, good. Maybe there won't be any visible dents or scratches. I hope the snow was all that touched the paint. Good for the Princess, too. No need to call a man, she handled it. Now, I don't know that she should have said she did it by listening to you..........

She said that she was going to call me if she couldn't get out. When I saw where she had gotten stuck, I said, "What the 'H' did you think I was gonna be able to do if you couldn't get out of there?" I was smart enough to not pursue how it was that she ended up in the ditch. She offered that she had pulled over to let the plow truck by (we live on a very narrow rural road.) and just slid off the edge. Wonder how fast she was going? I do know that when we went out for burgers she was driving very cautiously. HMMMM?

Once, driving the switchbacks going downhill, Alaskan's car started to slide. It was a nice slow, but there is nothing you can do about it, slide. Both sides of the road were just big and soft snow berms. But, there in the midst of one of the snow berms, was one lone street sign. You guessed it.....that street sign slid itself right up against the back door of Alaskan's car.
