*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

Alaskan signs sound like Alabama trees - they'll jump right out in front of ya'!
An' take their own sweet time about getting out of the way, too.

The last time it snowed significantly here, there was a pretty good layer of ice under it on the roads. My kids got to stay home from school, but of course, the horses still had to eat, so I couldn't stay home even if I wanted to. Before I ventured into the insanity that is Market Street, I thought I ought to test and see just how much it would take to break my car loose and make it slide - fortunately, I live behind a quiet neighborhood. As I suspected, even with all-wheel drive and anti lock brakes, it didn't take much! After that, I proceeded with great caution, giving myself huge following distances, accelerating and stopping slowly, and crawling through the turns. I was surprised at how many others just had to get out on the roads too, and how little sense some of them were showing. I pity the local police when it snows here - even the "snowbirds" seem to forget what they should do when it snows.

Afternoon, all.

It would take me much too long to catch up but I wanted to pop in and wave hello to all my favorite crazies before going back to the grind. (Moving is a heck of a lot of work and we've only barely started, and that's on top of remembering to do things like dishes and laundry and breathing.)

Wisher, are you under the delusion that you're funny?

This process thus far is anything but fun. We've done so much and there is still so much to do. Like, oh, I dunno... Finishing the stairs.

We never actually installed "nice" stairs and have used the plywood construction ones the entire time we've lived here. For some reason, though, that might scare off prospective buyers.

Eenie, I moved 8 times growing up; I can pack like nobody's business! When we went on vacation when my kids were little, even my husband was amazed by how much "stuff" I could put in a vehicle. Nobody had to ride on the roof, ever.

Funny the things we can live with, that we think nobody else would. Critter and I had this house built; we moved in with the understanding that we would finish the interior. We did get the stairs done, but there is still just primer on the walls. I keep meaning to get them painted . . . Let's see, we moved in when DS was 6 weeks old, and he's a high school senior now. Reckon it's time yet?
