What kind of door are you planning? But I'm not sure that it wuld make a difference because what ever door you put in it won't be to low on the floor. mine is 12 inches up. That keeps out a lot of water from seeping in.

i was thinking like a doggy door thing or cutting it out then putting hinges on the wood or something like that

i have looked over it to see if there was holes that a snake could get in or anything for that matter i didn't find none so i think its safe for now
