eh.... my parents only played classical music when I lived at home. ...
I remember it probably in my mid to late teens. I see Trini Lopez did a cover of it also.Am I the only one old enough to remember this song?
Wow..I never really thought about Lemon Tree in that context before! How strange..to me was a simple song about lemons..but then I was an innocent child back then and didn't "see" very deeply. And yes..a whole huge bunch of life has passed by...some good, some awful. I choose to focus on the good and learning to draw / paint has really helped me in this past year.... this is one of my latest drawings..done in colored pencil only. I titled it "Dragonfly" It is actually a Chinese Water Dragon ..but he must have been drinking red bull cause "it gives you wings"Howdy, Chooks!Made me do a double take there - hadn't seen you in donkeys' years! Welcome back!
We haven't seen Em in a while. Life (a whole lot of life - gads!) has happened to her, and she really doesn't have time to come play these days. I'm trying to remember how long it's been since 505 dropped in . . . . Most of the folks who played around on this thread have disappeared on us; we kind of keep it going to give them a place to drop in should they come by for a visit.
I've always loved the melody of Lemon Tree, but never been quite sure how I felt about the lyrics. If the father is saying, "women are fickle, they put on a seductive show in the beginning, but leave you sour and bitter in the end; don't trust them," I don't like that (for obvious reasons). If he's saying, "keep your wits about you and your eyes open, see the whole picture, not just the dazzling attract sequence," that I can get behind.
