Ducky...
The necklace for my wife is very real. And very funny.
Years ago when I was a real young spook, I remember watching
my uncle take a regular nut from the garage and file it down to a ring.
He made their wedding rings.
I'm a grown man. Got a boxful of diamonds and gold. They tell me it's
some expensive stuff. But I sure like to have that ring my uncle made.
And a very special memory? My sister. Today would of been her birthday.
She would of been 55. Years ago I got my own bubble gum machine for
Christmas. Complete with the little bubble gum balls.
But my sister had collected me up a bunch of those 25 cent bubble gum
toys so I could put them in my machine. Oh how we laughed about that.
The first thing I thought about when I woke up this morning was my sister.
She's been gone eleven years come January. Christmas was pretty bleak that
year for us. It didn't happen. I've still got her gifts wrapped up and put away
in the closet.
Back then I use to put up outside Christmas lights for her to see from her room.
I don't do that anymore either. No outside lights anymore. I tried to do it once,
and couldn't.
Christmas never comes around that it doesn't hurt like a knife.
So your jokes today helped me in a real special way.
Spook...December 19th is always a long day.
