That is almost Shakespearean, isn't it - "all your tediousness on me?"

"Oh no, for she hath broke the tediousness to us."
- Taming of The Shrew paraphrase.

To the resident Elders and Youngers, if you are the praying type, my JROTC unit and I could use some prayers.
We are the color guard for the Saint Patrick's Day parade this coming Saturday, and I do not feel like we are ready AT ALL.
Our 2nd Lt. recently graduated and ditched us to go to college, and we're all so used to marching with her that I think we're messing up more now that she's gone. Our new 2nd Lt. won't be marching with us due to Muscular Dystrophy, so that has us one man down for self-correcting. (One of our methods for staying in line is to quickly pass messages up and down the line while we are marching. "Tell Emma she's too far back." "Ev needs to pick up the pace." "Ashton and Max are too far apart." "Ashli is off the rhythm.") We have only been able to put in one good practice so far this semester, and that practice included the new Cadets who will not be marching in this parade, so thanks to them (I'm not being mean here, we all screw up when learning something new. Just calling it like it is) we messed up more and didn't get in as good a run-through as we could have.
I can totally see one of us tripping and dropping the American flag.

This is only my second parade, and Kody tells me that it always pulls together, but even he admits that we're a pretty sorry looking group right now.

Actually, Eenie, I had in mind Much Ado About Nothing:

Leonato Neighbours, you are tedious.
Dogberry It pleases your worship to say so, but we are the poor duke's officers; but truly, for mine own part, if I were as tedious as a king, I could find it in my heart to bestow it all on your worship.
Leonato All thy tediousness on me, ah?

Aren't we all such kind and generous souls, bestowing our tediousness on each other?

You have my sympathy, empathy and whatever other -athy, on the parade. Nothing quite like the fear of screwing up in front of an audience/spectators; and nothing like a bad dress rehearsal to put it into you.

Oh, ChickenLeg? In this place, it's sometimes hard to tell who your friends are.

We have out first babies! It's day 26, so I opened up two of the four remaining eggs for an eggtopsy after seeing no movement yesterday during candling. Both were alive, but very weak. One was shrink-wrapped, the other still had some yolk to ingest. I left them both in their shells after clearing away the membrane around their beaks so that they could breathe. And they look like silkies!!!
