Perhaps you've seen a side of him I haven't seen. I haven't seen a lot of his work, but of what I have seen, his routines didn't strike me as particularly funny, nor did I find him "engaging" in interviews. Maybe it was the interviewer's fault, but my impression was, not my cup of tea at all.

But, I'm with you about focusing on personality. When you get down to brass tacks, who we are is really between our ears. The rest is just window dressing, and it changes
