*sigh* I'm loosing my touch. (Warning: Hi-jacked by Em)

I feel extreme guilt. He had been a trusted companion on many years worth of journeys around my lawn. He had delusions of grandeur and tried to take on a tree stump. Oh what a horrible sound.

It was not a gentle or complete death, but in today' throw away society it is cheaper to replace rather than fix him.

That's one of the things I like about my husband's "commercial" mower. That thing cost an arm and a leg, but it was engineered to last. The blades are held on by bolts that are designed to shear off should someone try to use it as a stump grinder. I have wrecked a set of brand-new blades in a similar misadventure, but that's a lot cheaper than a gearbox!

There once was a lawnmower so dear,
yet into the weed's hearts it struck fear.
Then Sour took it for a spin,
and it made a dreadful din,
and for the lawnmower we now shed a tear.

Well, that was the worst poem ever... Rest in pieces, Sour's lawnmower. :(

The lawnmower Gods are angry with me. Did the front lawn and let the new mower have a rest. Came back out, filled the gas tank, tried to start it, and

it refused to run. Did all the 'trouble shooting' , called John Deere, and they said off to the lawnmower hospital with it. 10 days before they can even look at it. Anyone interested in grazing rights?

Oh, poor old Sour. Maybe the Gods of lawn mowers are just having their revenge for your shameless murder of one of their loyal devotees? You should offer sacrifice. Have a turtle dove or a spotless ewe?

I have an old Sears mower that I have been using every now and then for 'demolition derby' in the front hedge row - cutting anything that does not get out of it's way. This oldy but goldy has been sitting in my shed untouched for 2 years. It started on the second pull.

So that means I can't call dibs on grazing rights?

Just kidding, glad that your lawnmower is working now.

If anybody could join me in a sacrifice for our thrice-accursed cars, I'd appreciate it.
Suburban? Not accelerating, and at the mechanics.
Toyota? Dead in the driveway having battery issues. (We think.)
Geo Metro? At the mechanics with a busted alternator.
WHEN WILL IT END?! We have spent our vacation fund and then some over the past two weeks, all on our cars that won't quit dying.

It will NEVER end... I just need to make Sundance a rope halter, and break him to ride and pull a wagon, or buggy, and then Dad could ride Sundance the whole hour to his cubicle, never mind the fact he might have to tie the horse to his boss' car... and bring some hay and a bucket for water with him...

Okay, strike that. "Computer, erase that entire personal log."

First of all, sister of mine, it takes Dad an hour and fifteen minutes to get there when he's driving. Sundance being who and what he is, (sometimes it's not a very family-friendly term) it would take Dad a good 7-8 hours on the horse.
But I can totally see him in the parking lot munching on all the flowers somebody planted.
