Thank you so much for the update on Fred. It's always nice when folks post back telling us how things are going, if indeed he had heat stroke that may explain the way he is now. I am very thankful he pulled through as I'm sure you are.
Dave's wife here, Brenda. Nice to meet y'all. I'm "Mother Goose" seen in the photos. Fred would be the one 2nd from the right in the back of this picture (that's not including the white butt). Fred's doing pretty much the same. He walks with a huge sway and sometimes loses balance and sets on his butt. The injury seems to be something that's permanent. He's (Ok, we really don't know if Fred's a he or a she, we'll go w/male right now) stiffer in the morning and after resting, but can follow the flock and get in and out of pools.
He's shorter and stockier than the others. We gave them drench last week in the water, to bolster their systems both in the heat and for Fred. So far, that's about the best Fred will be. I do think he likes to stretch his wings and allow the lift to give him a better stretch, which is fun to watch.
