[/B][/B][/IMG][/IMG . So this little "girl" I got yesterday has me wonderin . She has the darker color of a pullet, but her legs are long and light...and her comb is bigger than the others. The spot on the head theory has always been a mystery to me but I included a pic for those who can tell

. Thanks for your input

Would I be correct in thinking that this two week old is a boy? Based on what I'm reading here, it has every early indication.

I'm guessing (or maybe just hoping) that this Dominique is a female. (hatched this morning)
Does anyone agree?
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm basing my guess on the head spot photos from the 1st page of this thread, but it's not so easy when it's your own chick & not in a textbook.

If I know I have the good shepherd line then what is the best way to tell? Or is it just not possible? We will be raising them all up either way but just for the heck of it I guess. :)

Sorry I didn't see this in July to tell you then - but my Dominique had a similar compact, slanted oblong spot on her head and black wash on the front of her feet and she's now at point of lay. I imagine by now you can tell yours is a pullet?

Yes. We believe she's a pullet. I think she'd have a darker comb & more white if male.

Here's my sweet Dominique, "Bubbles" today.
