I got 4 BR “pullets” from TSC but based on their reputation I’m not expecting them to all be pullets. Sure enough they are feathering out at different rates. 2 already are starting to get feathers in their tail but 2 are not. All of their legs seem the same dark wash wise (doesn’t go down to their toes but their legs are darker on front). All of their head spots are somewhat diffused (I got them around 1 week in age, but they couldn’t tell me actual hatch date). All of their down feathers seem to be gray not dark black. Some have solid white flight feathers, some don’t. So there seems to be some distinct differences. The pictures are of my most friendly and curious BR chick. Loves to jump up into my hand and never struggles to get away when I hold him. He seems like a cockerel to me, but what do you think?

That's a pullet.
