Hi
My hen comb is turning red day by day. . Will she lay egg soon?

Every breed...and even every individual hen within that breed, are on their own unique egg laying timetable! Yes, well developed combs and wattles are one sign, as is the "submissive squat" and spending time in the nesting box - but she will lay an egg when "all systems are go" on her own timeline. It's very, very exciting to get that first egg from a pullet!

Starts with red comb/watttles but when you get the squat, it should be within a week or two. Plus you can check their pelvic bone, two finger span they're laying.
Only one finger gap between bones.

Sorry its one and half finger. What does it mean?
