Signs of Spring.

What a beautiful wisteria!!!!! I wish I had one!

We celebrated Easter in the snow this year.

It was horrible to get so much snowfall before the kids egg hunt. Had to do it in the house...which was already packed with friends and family

I know how you feel, Pat. I'm in the northern tip of Michigan and it's about 10 degrees colder than average, we had a mini snow storm yesterday morning.

And the stupid ice that shouldn't still be in the driveway managed to take me out and give me a big head bump and a concussion on Saturday! I am all for spring showing up ANY DAY NOW!!!!!!

Gotta bump this thread, as some of the uglier denizens of spring have emerged here.
We hit the stream drainages every time flood waters recede, to hunt fossils, and last week was no different. To gain access to some downstream banks we had to detour through the woods. Cass had her eyes peeled for precocious Yellow Morels, but instead found these (the flower is an anomaly): BIG PUFFBALLS!

Next week, with luck, they'll slime away and be replaced by Chicken Of The Woods and Yellow Morels (2006 breaded up nicely - 2007 froze out!! - literally). Good luck to all you fellow Mycological mavens!
