Silence Is Not Golden Here

@Cyprus Good Morning Sunshine!
On your bator build, are your going to insulate it or just leave the plywood bare? I'd suggest a paint of some sort to keep the icky stuff easy to clean. Will this be a one time use or are you planning on continuing the hatching? You are getting good at it.
How will you regulate fresh air intake? Or will your constant candling provide all the needed oxygen? Are you including a slide valve or just counting on the seams to leak in?

@Tesumph how is the coop build going? When are you picking out the lucky selected chicks? It is still raining here. Quite the blow last night before bed. The puppies were huddled.

One of my coworkers has a chicken farm and we could get barnyard mixes. Very tempting. I'm waiting for @KikisGirls to need more eggs for her hatching addiction. They would need a home since my coop is at maximum capacity with the addition of the EEs.

Speaking of EEs, Kiki's yellow one has weird neck feathers. They don't lay flat. They poke out. I can't get a good picture, but they individually stand out unlike the other 5 pullets. Tell me these aren't hackle feathers. Please?!?
Already ordered them! I got too impatient and had to light a fire under hubby’s butt. 2buff orps, 2barred rocks, 2welsummer, and 2EE will be shipping the 11th.

The coop is 100% done, the run is almost there. Really all that’s left is rewiring the sides and top, scooting the coop up to it, and laying the bedding down. According to my husband, sometime next week his brother and dad will be coming down to knock out the wiring for me.
I’m banned from working in the heat anymore. (As if! :rant)

@KikisGirls I take that back. Apparently it rained all night here, I was out like a light.

Oh, how sweet! I hate to mention this, but it will be raining for the next week, so no electrical will get done. Electricity and water mix too well.

Congratulations on the new chicks!!! I'm so happy for you. You want a rooster? How about a puppy?
No worries, I don’t need electricity. I expect nothing to happen for the next week. I’m good on roosters and puppies lol. If I have any roosters in my 8, they’re either going in the freezer or my in-laws ranch.

I got worried a little last night when the sky turned a weird orange color then got dark real fast and the wind picked up.
I thought for sure there was going to be a tornado.
Then it stopped as quick as it started.
i was on the edge of the front.

This morning is a different story.
The rain will NOT STOP.:he

I need sausage for my gumbo.
It will be ruined if I don't add it.

It will get plenty of oxygen when I open the incubator at least 3x a day to turn the eggs. Leaving the seams be. Wood is stained. This incubator will be used often. I will hatch @honanbm's duck eggs in it next season.

Is your grill out in the rain?

I’m excited for it to start pouring. Maybe I can get out of July 4th hehe. I just hope the coop’s new paint holds up.
