I think I come off as more competent about how to do things on this site because of my background. I am a Software Engineer. I can use the site very proficiently, but some of the finer points of how it is set up I haven't learned yet because I haven't had a need to learn it.

I'm not that type of Software Engineer. I HATE coding. I can do it, if necessary but there are people who can do it faster, better, and actually enjoy it. I can take existing code and tweak it, but I'm not very good at writing from scratch. I might be able to make the front end (what the user sees) of a calculator more user friendly (I do better when I can see my work) but coding the back end (what does all the processing behind the scenes) is usually very hard for me.
