Silence Is Not Golden Here

Jeeze, I didn't even finish the first page before I bailed. Kind of a guilt trap you're running here. It's like The Post Whore thread on my other board. Just a place where all the random conversation that isn't otherwise post worthy goes. This is a dangerous area for me since I already have over 20,000 posts on at least two other discussion forums.

Happy 4th of July, everyone!! :)
The Milk Drinker just pointed to your avatar and said "ki-ki". That is how he says kitty. He does this because when I'm calling the cat I'll say "ki-ki-ki-kitty". He calls chickens "Chick-Chick" for the same reason because I call "Chick-chick-chick-chicky" for the chickens to come.

My dog is fine as well. Doesn’t faze him. Too bad boxers are non-sporting lol. He’d be a great hunting dog if there were any instincts there at all :lau
2/3 of my dogs couldn’t care less about the fireworks. The other is a rescue and gets worried over thunder and loud noises.

Our property is right in the middle of some neighborhoods, cowfields, and similar rural properties like our own. A stray that get spooked and runs down any given road will end up here. When I worked at the vet clinic this was probably the most stressful time of year.

Fireworks are banned here, except for city displays. There are always a few scofflaws setting some off, but hopefully the grass fires we had in the open space a few days ago, will remind folks to knock it off. We hear the booms from the city display clearly here, but my dog is good with it. Since he was a pup, the 4th has been free stuffed frozen kong night, all you can eat. His fav holiday.

@KikisGirls what sausage is your preferred one? I import mine from Iowa (the city, not pronounced like the state, before y'all start! Right near Lacassine and Ardoin's Cove. Look it up.) since I couldn't find any worthy in Texas. When we run back to Lake Charles, we get Rabideaux's (ice chest FULL) and Market Basket's smoked jalapeno boudin with strawberry milk. :drool:drool:drool Rabideaux's is the ONLY sausage that I cook gumbo with now. Better than the andouille that I tried. I cook the sausage and use the seasoned grease to make the roux with the groullion. Oh, my. Let her cook for 8 hours. Too bad it isn't gumbo weather...
My aunt is the mayor of Iowa. Wait...was.
