Though honestly, emus are scary. They're huge.

I've hand-fed an emu. They're not that scary, though I wouldn't really want to get in a fight with one. However, I'd much rather get into an argument with an angry emu, than with a friendly cassowary... they kill people. Okay, only one proven, but still.

I don't like anything that chases me. Just self-preservation instinct kicking in. I do have a childhood memory where my folks took me to one of those drive through animal parks where you can feed them from your car. They had emu, and one stuck his head all the way in the car and I'd never been so scared in my life! I dropped that feed bucket, and the bird went after it so we made our getaway, but the emu chased our car almost all the way out of the park. Lol! The stuff of nightmares...
