Silence Is Not Golden Here

I have absolutely no idea what would happen if I hatched an egg from Ash and Copper...

Because, well... here's Ash:

And here's Copper.....

Utterly and completely different. Ash looks like... well, a muddy blue Colombian... and Copper's sort of chocolate partridge-ish. I think I'd get a mystery.

When I say I don't think Copper's gotten the job done... I mean just that. He's got the 'hop on the back' part down well enough, now, but every time he tries to get back near her tail he falls off and she wanders off in disgust.
In fact, perhaps we ought to start a "Muttly Crew" thread of weird chicken crosses to keep track of these strange looking critters.

That would certainly help some people - I've looked all over trying to find chick and adult pictures for some mixes. I just really, really wish I knew what went into my EE's. I've tried guessing, but my grasp on chicken genetics is weak at best. For Ash, I was thinking possibly Blue Ameraucana x Colombian Wyandotte... And with Smoke's 'ruddy' hues coming through almost laced, maybe Blue Ameraucana x BLR Wyandotte. No idea what would create a pale lavender splash like Snow, though.

Me too! I would love to know what cross my EE girls are. Chicken genetics sure are neat - I would love to get into it a bit more when I have more time (perhaps a retirement project many years down the road).
Your girls (and your roo) are beautiful - I would really love to see some crosses. I wonder what traits would be dominant. The muffs, beards and Serama tail would just be a lark! I'd love it.

When you try to do things online but then the internet slaps you in the face and reminds you that you're in Europe and apparently cannot access large sections of news outlets, apps, and the World Wide Web *sarcastic emphasis on world wide*

What, does Germany not exist to major companies? How are we supposed to do anything.
I cannot imagine the trouble I will have with access when I move to Tanzania.

I tried starting a thread like that a while ago. It didn't take off though. My buckeye roo's favourite gal is a silkie. She snuck some eggs under my broody OEGBs. I've got 4 buckeye silkie crosses that are 5 weeks old now. They're so cute!
