OK, so we have a duck, bit of a mixed breed thing, we originally thought we bought all females, but have always had suspicions that this one turned out to be male, anyway, recently 'he' has started to look like he is trying to call out but is making no sound, like if you looked out the window you would think he is making the loudest quack ever, mouth wide open etc, but really there is little more than an asthmatic sounding breath coming out.
I know that male ducks are quieter than females, but silent? and although i cant be 100% sure, i am pretty sure he used to make noise, certainly would have done when we got him as we listened for the quack to pick females
No signs of ill health, still eating, drinking foraging, running around as normal. Isn't doing it all the time so its not like he has something stuck that he is trying to get out
Can things change and indeed he not make a sound when trying to quack? or should i be looking for something else wrong?
