they look great to me, wait til you see mine, wicked vulture hocks....I noticed them the other day but hadn't looked up the standard yet....

Whew - had me worried I wasn't seeing something! Also a past dog show & breeder person. Trust me, the worst thing a breeder can do is deceive themselves. If anything, we're probably MORE inclined to see problems. Attention to detail does not necessarily have to be OCD…

They were hatched 3/1/11, so just about 12 weeks old. If anything, I've wondered more about whether they are a boy & girl like they've been looking & acting like all this time. The older they get, the harder it is to tell them apart at a glance!

The roos don't seem to have the definition that the ladies do, so the blobbiness of his white shoulders just shouted "I'm a ROO" right off. He was also much bigger than she was for the first 9 weeks, lately she seems to be catching up. She's nowhere nearly as easy-going and friendly as he is. Again, boys are always the sweet ones at my place.

it isn't just you with the boys....my boys are friendlier too, come over to be rubbed...my stupid gray games are friendly too, only they are starting to beat everyone up...I so wished those 2 were girls

I will get a pic of mine in a couple of days, you will see how obvious the vulture hocks are

Of the breeds I have now, excluding the Houdans because they are a freaking circus all by themselves, the Brahma boy is probably the least outgoing. But that's unfair, really, compared to the Pumpkin Hulseys, Marans, and Orpington boys who are all incredibly smart and and friendly. The one that tops the list right now is a 10 week old bantam Polish, WC Blue, that I'm thinking MUST be a boy because of this incredible behavior. He is sitting (sleeping) on my shoulder as I write because the little coop door (him and the Houdans) wasn't latched and he got out, came upstairs, and THREW himself at the door until I let him in. And would NOT crawl down off my shoulder - just up onto my head. the 4-yr-old thought my "hat" was hilarious.

No, he wasn't scared by anything, this is generally his behavior when he decides he doesn't want to be outside anymore. Even outside with everyone else, he will come running up to whatever appendage he can find to be picked up. He (it, still could be a girl) is the biggest baby and will cuddle with anyone.

I suppose it's just as well the Brahma's aren't quite this bad - can you imagine a full grown Brahman roo on your shoulder, or worse, your head? Sure, what a gorgeous hat, but...

I had little dogs with attitudes - Chihuahuas and Papillons. When the 3 old chi girls I have now pass on, I'll get a Papillon again. And a Doberman. :)

Wait until you see how huge they get! Everyone that sees my brahma roo is amazed as his size-very intimidating looking but he's a mooshball of gentleness. I can bend down and pick mine right up without one ounce of struggle....we call them road blocks and speed bumps-they have a look of laziness in thier eyes. Like a night of hard partying and waking up to early! haha

I have five of the little guys that hatched in the beginning of March. All of them have vulture hocks, so I guess I'm stuck!
