Hello all! šŸ‘‹

I intended on posting some pics of my blue laced gold Wyandotte chick, but had to give up before one of us had a heart attack. Turns out that chick is fast, and a lot smarter than me lol šŸ˜‚

This little darling on the other hand is not much of an escape artist, and turned out to be much easier to catch.

I haven’t given any thought to this munchkin, cause at just over 5 weeks, it’s typically too early for silkies. But I’m putting it out here anyway and will update along the way, hopefully might be able to help someone out in the future :)

Tried to get a standing pic but it only wanted to sit down. Very quiet little chick, placid, but seems to have quite a lumpy comb.

Will update soon!

I'm not a pro. 🤫

I was just about to politely enquire if your Wyandotte was a boy or a girl.
I will ask it's name instead. That's safer.

My little Wyandotte cockerel is the same.
He has a high pitched voice and squeals at me if I go near him.

I’m awful at naming chooks. The Wyandotte will probably end up as ā€˜bluey’. Like my gold laced named goldie and the silver laced called silvie.

Boy or girl you ask? Well. You tell me, I just managed to catch her. :)
I am not seeing the major roo signs. Just over 5 weeks.

My initial thought too. The tail came in way too small and late. But gonna wait on that comb development. Oh also, big legs 🦵
Feathers are telling me it's a cockerel.
Only reason I don't say definite cockerel is because it's so early.
I'm positive he is male.

What are the laws like in your area? Are cockerels allowed?

Feathers as in growth pattern ? Colour pattern? Just trying to learn here šŸ˜…

No unfortunately not allowed and don’t really want one. These two will need to go

The randomness.
Everything.
Difficult to see, but note the scrambled pattern in the SLW cockerel.
Male specific feathering should show up about 12+ weeks. Update me.
