It truly is! My chicks that hatched started laying a couple weeks ago! one lays a jumbo green egg!

That's so nice! I hope some of my babies lay blue/green eggs. The EE/silkie parents lay beautiful blue/green eggs so hopefully

she was Beatrix Potter's famous duck character. she was too impatient to sit on her eggs for the full 28 days, so the farmer wouldn't let her, and gave her eggs to the chicken (sally henny penny). Jemima got all bent out of shape, so she stormed off to lay her eggs in the woods, where she meets the sandy whiskered gentleman (the fox) who lures her into his woodshed so she can lay her eggs there. Eventually the farmyard dog (Kep) gets the story out of Jemima and he rescues her just before she's about to be roast duck. There's an animated version on youtube.

Me too. I also love the movie Miss Potter, and the Beatrix Potter Ballet. One of my favorite BP books is The Pie and the Patty Pan. It's a little more obscure, but hilarious.
