If you remove a bird from a flock(sometimes even for a few days) The pecking order will need to be reastablished when the bird is put back in. You may need to treat it like an integration of a new bird.

That's what I figured. We've never integrated a new bird to the flock so learning how to do that. Do you have any advice on that?If you remove a bird from a flock(sometimes even for a few days) The pecking order will need to be reastablished when the bird is put back in. I'm glad she's well enough to rejoin her flock. She has healed well and she goes to visit the doc tomorrow just to make sure all is in order. However, I put her with her sisters for a little while today and they were pecking at her non stop.....sigh......so now I have to figure out what's going on there and how to get them to stop.
Thank you very much for the information. We are going to try putting them together again today for a short period and see how it goes. If it's the same then we shall try what the article suggested. Thanks bunches!I'm glad she's well enough to rejoin her flock.
If a hen is separated out for more than a couple of days, there's often drama and you may need to re-introduce her.
Pecking is going to be a normal reaction and sometimes it can be hard to watch. It all depends on how much you can tolerate and what's happening to her. If she's just getting a peck and no blood drawn, then try again. If it all seems like too much, then cage her within the coop/run so they can all see one another. The article below will be helpful.
