Sadly Nicki died this morning. Not sure why. She had no visible injury.

Thank you. We all cried. Really never thought I'd be that attached to a chicken, but then we've only lost one before. Silkies are such sweet sweet birds.

What I think may have happened is the other birds noticed the silkie was ill before you did and did what chickens do, survival of the fittest. It's possible that the attack made her go into shock complicating whatever else was happening. I'm sorry you had to go through this.

I think you are right. She was always such a gentle and quiet bird, not like the others. We really miss her.
