My silkie hen was attacked by something today (12/27) around 12pm is when I found her. she has a very large "hole" in the back of her neck. I believe that I can see blood vessels and her trachea/esophagus (whichever one sits in the back of the neck). she is alive and seems to be holding her head up properly and moving it around okay. I have her inside my living room away from everything. The only near by vet quoted me 500$ and thats without medication or other fees (just for closing the wound). I don't know what to do to help her. it appears pretty clean and I flushed it out and applied poultry wound care spray. when she is sitting normally you don't even see it, but when she extends her neck it becomes extremely apparent. I don't know if wrapping it would help or hurt or how to even go about it due to where the injury is. I am posting pictures and u warn that they are not the best quality but also pretty graphic .
I am a single mom with three kids so 500+ dollars is not really an option solely because I simply don't have that much money, especially immediately after Christmas.
