SILKIE ...boy or girl??

Well its up to 5 that say pullet and 3 for rooster....i just want to know! And I really want it to be a hen because none of the hens that i have right now will go broody, they are all sexlinks, leghorns, and a sebright

I vote pullet. They are slow to start laying, too.

She looks exactly like a silkie hen i have. i say definitely you have a pullet there. Silkies can be very slow to lay. Just give her some time.

I vote rooster. The wattles and comb are too red/large for bird that is only 18 weeks. If it were a mature hen (and by mature I mean laying for at least several months) then yes I would say hen, but not now.

Well I'm going to cast my vote for pullet here
my 7 yo DD says it's a G-I-R-L and she is rarely wrong!
(we have many young silkies right now and I rely on her a lot!)

I will guess pullet. My 2 sex links started trying to go broody a 1 year old. I had to keep breaking them of and lost a lot of eggs.
