sorry to butt in BUT can someone tell me how I come to hatch two partridge looking chicks form a paint pen?

with paint roo, black hen, blue hen, paint hen?

or black (split to paint) roo, white hen, 2x paint hens?

Both parents provided e^b, the base for partridge, and the generic base for silkies and several other breeds. At least one parent provided Pg, the pattern gene. Both parents provided gold. Neither provided dominant white or a paint allele of it. Waaa-laaa you now have partridge. Chances are that one of the parents was white (that is an educated guess).

He could anywhere from 1 to 3 years old.

Oh, I thought he might be too young but guess not. My last roo didn't get the idea until he was 10 months.

Is black underfluff as black as the top feathers all the way to the roots? What color is the feather shaft? Can someone post a photo of black under fluff?

I have several young guys.
I am in love with this little guy, he has really improved since this photo was taken. I have another little blue hatched from Kate Morreale's eggs, he's very nice as well, his crest isn't as large though. I am thinking I may sell him.

wow...thanks Sonoran...not that I really understand...but wow! I just gave away my partridge silkies as I am not really 'into' the partridge....so you think one of the whites and the black roo are throwing partridge as I only have whites with the black roo...so whites can throw a variety of colors depending on who they are paired with? sorry I know you guys are talking about blacks...

it would make sense as the black roo does have some gold leakage on his collar...is that where the gold would come from?

yes...but I didn't know the white girl's genetics and was hoping she would throw paints with my black (split to paint) roo as my white hen is very typey and stunning...but oh well...maybe I will have some great looking partridges then?????
