Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

Fellow Silkie breeders, if you or anyone you know has gotten birds or eggs from Beth Gaetano (BethG here on BYC) please let me know if you can help.
I just got word that while she is at the Ohio Nationals, some kind of beast (weasel?) got into her barn and killed 51 of her birds.
If anyone can help in replacing her stock, please let me know.
I don't think it would be a good idea contacting her until after Sunday, she is devastated enough and needs to keep it together for the ride home.

Thank you in advance for your help, I truly appreciate any help you can give her.

Roberta, I am so sorry to hear about this. Poor Beth!

Silkie eggs won't fit in the small egg tray in that incubator, the silkie eggs are far too large....sorry.

The small egg tray fits tiny eggs, like quail eggs.
Hey! I just wanted to say thanks. As a newcomer, I do feel overlooked very often. I am so glad that you were able to take a moment and get back to me! Thanks!

Tina-- I am so very sorry that you lost your splash. Wow, and you worked your hind end off trying to keep them all alive and well. I don't know what you can do with the PO. Sadly, I think there might be nothing. I've had so many birds shipped to me without problems, it seems like mostly they arrive fine. It just breaks my heart that they LOST them. Had it not been for that, they probably would have been fine. Sigh.

I wanted to get some opinions on my white silkie, Fred. These pictures were taken a month or so ago. He was 4 - 5 months old.

I took this picture today....he needs a bath! I went to get him to take some pics, only to find him taking a mud bath!!

This is hysterical!!! The last picture, I'd say you have a real mess on your hands. But the first two pictures are stunning! Great bird from where I'm sitting. Check his wings and feet, and look for a straight back, etc... He looks good so far! And his wings look fine from this angle too...

That is terrible news! WOW, so many birds all at once! What on earth!? That would do it for me, I'd be sitting out there with my gun. The coyotes here have been TERRIBLE!!!! I'm ready to thin them out. My brother in law and I are planning an evening for just that purpose. A few years back, their numbers were so high, they attacked my oldest mare in my back pasture and nearly took her down-- there were 5 on her. They were not scared at us as we ran out there in the night yelling at them-- they held their ground. The only thing that stopped them was shooting them. Ridiculous!! Anyway, it really shakes you up for months after something like that. I feel so terrible for her.

I couldn't have answered your question... I doubt anyone was ignoring you. Probably just had no idea what to say! I have a Brinsea Octagon-- great machine. Never tried the mini's.

FIVE coyotes on your mare, Hawkeye??? Oh my GOSH! I would have been livid with rage (I'm sure that you were!)

I lost 11 guineas to a coyote attack this summer while I was at work, broad daylight right next to my garage. The following week I had one, middle of the day, jog thru my back yard right next to my coops while I was cleaning stalls. My cockatoo, who was out in her aviary, sounded the alarm which made me run from the barn and see him. Birds must all speak a similar language cause my silkies all dove for the coops when Parasol screamed. That did it - I've adopted a guard llama to keep those predators at bay...and enlisted the help of a small army with hunting skills for a spree...

I'm so, so sorry to hear about Beth's birds - absolutely heartbreaking....I can't even imagine. My prayers are with her...
