Fellow Silkie breeders, if you or anyone you know has gotten birds or eggs from Beth Gaetano (BethG here on BYC) please let me know if you can help.
I just got word that while she is at the Ohio Nationals, some kind of beast (weasel?) got into her barn and killed 51 of her birds.
If anyone can help in replacing her stock, please let me know.
I don't think it would be a good idea contacting her until after Sunday, she is devastated enough and needs to keep it together for the ride home.
Thank you in advance for your help, I truly appreciate any help you can give her.

Hey! I just wanted to say thanks. As a newcomer, I do feel overlooked very often. I am so glad that you were able to take a moment and get back to me! Thanks!Silkie eggs won't fit in the small egg tray in that incubator, the silkie eggs are far too large....sorry.The small egg tray fits tiny eggs, like quail eggs.![]()
I'm glad I could answer your question. I wondered the same thing when I ordered my Brinsea because I didn't know the actual size of a silkie egg when I purchased it and the hatching eggs.Hey! I just wanted to say thanks. As a newcomer, I do feel overlooked very often. I am so glad that you were able to take a moment and get back to me! Thanks!
This is hysterical!!! The last picture, I'd say you have a real mess on your hands. But the first two pictures are stunning! Great bird from where I'm sitting. Check his wings and feet, and look for a straight back, etc... He looks good so far! And his wings look fine from this angle too...
That is terrible news! WOW, so many birds all at once! What on earth!? That would do it for me, I'd be sitting out there with my gun. The coyotes here have been TERRIBLE!!!! I'm ready to thin them out. My brother in law and I are planning an evening for just that purpose. A few years back, their numbers were so high, they attacked my oldest mare in my back pasture and nearly took her down-- there were 5 on her. They were not scared at us as we ran out there in the night yelling at them-- they held their ground. The only thing that stopped them was shooting them. Ridiculous!! Anyway, it really shakes you up for months after something like that. I feel so terrible for her.Fellow Silkie breeders, if you or anyone you know has gotten birds or eggs from Beth Gaetano (BethG here on BYC) please let me know if you can help.
