I just browsed the ASBC booklet and found two breeders in Knoxville
I don't know if it is ok to just write their info publically, so if you want PM me and let me know other cities close by and I will do my best to help you out. Have you tried on Facebook? There are several silkie groups.

You could also try Jamie at Sleepy Hollow Farms. I know she ships hatching eggs (which I had a great hatch rate from) and I'm pretty sure she ships chicks too. The porcelain in my avatar came from her, she's a super nice lady!

I will check it out to see if she has any chicks.as for now I'm afraid to buy eggs.I have no bator .all I have is a heat lamp which I recently used to hatch some of my own bantam cochins.had to cause dog snatched one of my hens off the nest.had another hen on nest but she could'nt cover all the eggs. I managed to hatch 5out of 7 chicks. Had no ideal what I was doing so I was cramming all info I could find for 2 weeks.now I'm hooked and want a bat or.

It's a rewarding experience. I have a few chicks that I suspect are pullets...they are about 10wk and their sister looked just like them as a baby. I also have 2 that I suspect are cockerels, it's fun to see how it all shakes out.

Mr. Ace Ventura has now had his first bath ever!!

And he wasn't as dramatic as I thought he would be! He's about 9 months old. I think I'll start my next chicks with this bathing stuff a little sooner. lol

He wasn't much for posing either. I got a couple of nice shots. Ace insisted on taking a nap in the sun. Today was the warmest day we've had for a long time and all the animals were snoozing in the sun!








And look at those feet! Not the greatest feathering around but I was pretty impressed how his feet turned out after a bath. They looked quite sad before and I didn't think they were going to turn out that good.

Now I'm REALLY excited about taking this guy to our first show in April! I mailed the entries today!!

I am in east TN and my sillkies are pretty good quality...they have placed well at the shows. I have had them critiqued here. I can post some pics if you like. I am between knoxville and greenville. Jack Furgeson is in Knoxville ..he has very nice silkies...I am sure there are people here who know him. He is a very nice guy and very honest.
