Depending where you live. I just had my flock NPIP tested and it was free. The state has a grant.

Here in NC the fee for NPIP testing is practically free: $5 minimum and $0.10 per bird after that, I think. The trick here is actually getting them to come out. This year worked better for us than previous years when they came out once then never came back again, despite repeated calls.

If I recall, at shows they charge a dollar minimum...or a dollar per bird. Don't even remember b/c it's THAT paltry. LOL

How is she looking? I just gave her a bath with a new shampoo I bought, but I don't know if I like it on her. I will be able to better tell once the feathers settle more. But how does she look conformation wise? She is molting so please excuse the sparseness in parts. I also realize her back is a little long

how bad is it? She holds herself a lot differently inside than she does outside for some reason.

She does have a long back. In her outdoor picture, I really think she has wry tail. Does she hold her tail like that regularly? If so, then she is wry, which is a shame. If you want to double check, take a picture of her outside where she feels comfortable and take the picture from directly on top of her so we can see how her back looks. Otherwise, she has a nice crest and chest.

Hello! I was refferred to this group for a color question I'm getting this color popping out in my flock. I've been told Porcelin, lavendar, double silver gene white...which makes it pearl? lol I'm totally new to this but I am stuck on what color this is. I want to cull it from my flock if it's not something to have if you want to show. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also, any comments on thier type would be awesome

She doesn't usually, that was after a bath, she tends to do it more after a bath

. I will post some more pics of her back and tail. How much would be taken off for a back that's a bit long?

) looks good. I just saw someone else post a picture of one with the same coloring calling it a buff partridge, but she also has spots! So... The real question is, is it possible to get a buff partridge paint? Or maybe even a buff splash or something like that. Here are a bunch of pictures of her

I would love to show her alongside Hachi my blue splash. How would I enter an odd color like hers is you think she could do well? I saw someone mention they are showing AOV.

Okay, the first bird (your splash) that I thought might have a wry tail-- I agree, she looks pretty straight. Thank you for posting the straight on above shot of her back and more outdoor pics. She looks like she's naturally holding herself very well. She also looks like her back is shorter now... crazy how photos don't capture everything. I think she looks very decent and has a nice chest on her, not to mention a great crest. Paired with the right boy, I bet she'd make a really great breeder.

For this split wing pictured above-- this doesn't look like split wing to me at all. It looks like an immature wing growing in or a molted wing coming back in. I would wait before you get too anxious about her wings being bad. This bird also looks very nice. I think you're doing very well so far!

For comparision (I've already shown this before on this thread) but THIS is what I would consider split wing-- where the secondaries are swept back towards the body and don't create a natural fan.

as you can see-- the feathers aren't missing, but they will never fan out properly and this effect causes a horrible split or divide. You have a gap that I do believe is caused by feathers that have not grown in, but it's some what clear that the pins might be there and that the feathers do look like they will be coming in. I'd still watch your wing closely and keep checking it BEFORE you ever breed. Boy, did I make that mistake! Anyway, if that wing comes in like it should, then breed.
