The Independence chicks are almost 2 months old. Any guesses as to possible genders? Also contacted the gal I got the eggs from and she said Liberty is a Moors Gray. I have no idea what that means but I love these little birds!

I've got a Black silkie male from a black silkie parent pair and their parents were also black silkies. same as my white silkie hen from a white silkie pair and their parents were also white silkies. Now, if I cross these two Black silkie male with White silkie hen will I still get Buff, paint, partridge etc etc chicks or will I get BlackWhite mix coloured chicks?

White chickens just like white rabbits carry genes for colors and you just won't know what those color genes are until you breed away from the white. Think of the white as a cloak of invisibility for the actual color of the chicken. There is a color under the white, you just do not know what is until you test mate to a non white.

You mean it only carry genes for one color only or several colors?

The only way to know whether it carries one or many colors is to breed it to a non white. Whites are no different than any other colored chicken, you just cannot see the color to mate it with a complimentary color. The white covers it up.
