Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

Thanks for the advice!!! Will do!! How long can I collect fertile eggs before incubating them? The hens are separate from the roaster now. How long before there eggs are no longer fertile?

I want a splash silkie soo bad! 

I will be seling eggs as soon as I get it all figured out! Oh, and when they start laying. LOL! Hopefully in the spring.

So I know the first two are going to be white. I actually think the second two will be also, but any guesses to what else they could be? I have hatched an accidental blue cream somehow through my whites, so it's not out of the question. I know the other two are black, and partridge. lol

Sorry, I could have elborated. LOL! The split black is from a breeding of either a paint over black or a bbs pen, but turned out black. I can't remember which one that chick came from as I was hatching several at the time. But I know she came out of one of those breedings, therefore has genetics other than black in there. My pure black is older and came from a long line of nothing but blacks.

On the topic of all these colors, could someone tell me what colors are able to be shown? I know the recognized silkie colors are black, blue, white, splash, partridge, buff, and gray (this is off the top of my head so sorry if I forgot any) But I have also been told you can show porcelain...? I have a porcelain rooster who is very handsome and I was wondering if I should bring him along to congress with me for my first big show, but I am not sure if that is allowed, please help! I was pretty certain only recognized colors could be shown..

They are not bad at all. I don't think they would win nationals but they are pretty nice.

Not really looking for winning at nationals, but wouldn't that be fun?! They're my 4-H project, but I would like to breed true to type as much as I can!
