Silkie breeding, genetics & showing

Hello fellas. I was thinking to cross my white Silkie roo to a black partridge Silkie hen. Could someone help me out with the outcome of this cross? What color of chicks will I get?

Breeding white to any color other than white will yield unpredictable results. What pops out depends on the genetics behind both birds. You'll find out when you do it :)

Hi silkie people. I was wondering what kind of scale you all use for weighing your silkies, and where you purchased it. I am looking for something to weigh my silkies before I choose my breeders. I need to make sure they are the correct weight and not too heavy for the breed standard. I'm looking for something not too pricey as well... maybe $20-25 if possible.

Edited because apparently I can't spell!

Hi Walmart $14.00 kitchen scale :)

Could someone please tell me what color this silkie pullet is ?
400
she was all black when I first got her when she was little but now she has that goldish color ?? I only have white breeding silkies right now and until I can find a partridge rooster ,I Am gonna put her with my whites.

It could, but partridge is tricky. It requires a double mating system to achieve proper color on males and females (so, a pen breeding for males of the correct color and another for females). I'd think, with her being mostly black, if you do get partridge chicks they'd likely be very dark.
If it were me, I'd find a blue, black or splash rooster and cull heavily for any birds that show leakage. But, that's me.

Good luck :)

Here are a few of my Partridge ladies....the last pic is still a juvie and she will be darker than the other 2 hens....her crest will contrast more with her color....Moorehead is what the darker Parti's are called (I'm pretty sure...if I'm wrong correct me
