Nori layed another egg, may be too late now but put it in the bator anyway
I am glad she is doing better. Is she back outside with the rooster - or is that what you meant by "may be too late now" as in infertile?

Toulouse is visiting with angelobutter's hens until we get a house, so I mean infertile =) I have 3 others in the incubator but can't see any development.I am glad she is doing better. Is she back outside with the rooster - or is that what you meant by "may be too late now" as in infertile?

.. At first I wondered why you were talking about a goose, until I realized that is your rooster's name... I have a lonely toulouse goose over here, and I would never say he/she was "visiting" the hens - more like chasing everybody off...![]()
Sorry they aren't fertile, but as long as she is getting better you can be back up and running in a bit.

Very hard to tell with the color of these pictures. The middle one might be either black or dark blue, but can't say for sure with these pictures.hello everyone on this thread. i am not looking to show, i just want breeding quality, i am new to raising silkies. i just got three silkies however i am having trouble with figuring out what color these pullets are, i know she hasnt gotten her adult feathers fully in yet but could someone help me and tell me what color they are

Good that she's laying eggs and doing well.Nori layed another egg, may be too late now but put it in the bator anyway
Thanks for your comments. I do feel he is a good 4+years going by the size of the spurs. I'm going to feed him up on some good FF and see if it improves things. My Silkies/SG's are not Show quality but I don't want to "down" breed them.He is a grey, not a blue. His comb is incorrect, especially in shape, but also it is too red. Yes, diet could make difference in his plumage quality; as could a good molt. My original silkie cock's plumage became pretty coarse when he got old; when he was young it was as fluffy and fine as you could want..
looks splash. May splash out a little more but doesn't look to have much for breeding purposes
It doesn't look self-blue so I'm guess dilute splash. Not a big problem. Just breed to to blue or black.
