I used Keipper Jap coops . They are 2x2' and come 2 to a section. They are taller than bantam coops, so you don't have to worry about the crests. Food and water AlWAYS in the same kidney cups, and pop bottle, with plastic cups, waters. at home , or at shows.Makes a difference.
Larger feed cups shaped like a kidney bean, not the small round ones. More room for crests !
Ground corn cob is too light. It goes everywhere. It will also stain if it gets wet.

I found much less wear on the crests from a wider, shallower cup. Whatever works !The feed cups I like are actually utensil holders from Ikea.
