Now that I've looked closer at you chick, I don't think that it's a silkie because those are normal feathers coming out from her wings. I think that he/ she is a mix.

It's not purebred looks to me like some kind of mix. But it does look to be a female.
It is definitely a mystery to me too. The parents are silkies but they must have some mixes in there somewhere!! But I've been trying to get the right feathers and such on my roosters, but I only have the. One white hen right now. She's not very fluffy either, but maybe I'll get lucky with one of her babies. So far I hatched out 6 of her babies and the very first one has huge wing feathers!! Not like a silkie at ALL!! so I really don't know WHERE this is coming from!! Maybe I'll just keep her for a broody hen, since she's been sitting so well for me the last 3 weeks!! She has given me 3 black and 3 ...UNKNOWN..LOL! I'll go get a pic of her right now and everyone can tell me what they think. She's not the prettiest, but she is my first silkie hen that's laying. This is her...grumpy and in broody mode lol
Was the hen in with any other roosters within a month of her laying? That would explain a lot
wow!! I just looked at baby pics of that chicken and its the EXACT SAME WINGS!!! sooooo how is that POSSIBLE?? I am so confused. Haha! She has only been with white and buff silkies for almost 2 months now, so Idk what's happening. What do u think?? Here is a closer pic of her wing too. That looks like a Salmon Faverolles chick and a boy at that.
