Quote: I think he is very handsome! I am no Silkie expert by any means, but from what I can see his wings look tight, he looks to have that "S" shape, he looks like he has a nice full crest, and he looks like he has that nice poofy cushion!![]()
He's the cutest thing ever!
ok guys I have some color questions. This winter I have hatched lots of eggs in preparation for having breeding pens in the late spring, so of course I have a few odd balls that I am not sure what to call them or do with them. They are cute whatever they are. Random white feathers and all. I know that sometimes you get silver leakage on a black bird...... Makes extra white whites is what I have been told on here if you can get the recessive whites together. Hope that helped a little? Really cute either way. First, an 8 week old (pullet?) hatched from BBS or paint eggs (most likely BBS). she/he has leakage on the neck. Should I keep it for breeding purposes? I already have a pure white pen, and will be setting up a paint pen, a blue pen (maybe with splash), and a pure black pen.![]()
next is 2 chicks that I originally thought were spash one is 8 weeks old and hatch from either paint or BBS eggs (most likely BBS). The other is 6 weeks old and came from a blue and black pairing I believe. Came from two different breeders. They are mostly black with white feathers on their wings, the older one is more pronounced. the 8 week old

Would these be best suited for any of my projects? maybe with a paint rooster over them?
