Pullets. I have heard people say their birds have been disqualified for weight, and judges can usually tell if they are over or under. My splash is the perfect weight for a pullet, but holding them you can really tell a difference.
and that judge Dq for weight he better trow those babies on the scale and weigh all bird in the barn

pullets can be any where from 6months to almost year old the judge has no way telling age other then class
 
ive never seen judge put chicken on the scales
i was talking to a judge this weekend who has been in the business for a long time and he said they did use to weigh the chickens but they do not no more as could u imagine trying to weigh 1000 chickens it would make judging last alto longer

i could just see some crazy old lady flip out on the judge because they weight and Dqed her birds lol
 
Picaso and his super duper ugly comb. So what would you call this? He's a paint silkie...now I'm nervous with three paints incubating right now

if this was my paint boy and only one i had i would use him for breeding i have lively partedge male that has comb just like it realy only thing i can fault my male on
 
I have a question about breeding silkies. When you breed a female, how many fertile eggs can she have from one breeding? I am down to 2 silkies, and I don't really want to get another bird right now and was thinking when my girls are finally laying to breed one or both to a really nice male. I could always cull a few, but then I would be risking culling viable ones, or one that could have been awesome.
