Silkie broody but not?

x2 thats how my cochins acted about a week before they went broody
Yep sounds pre-broody, some of mine don't poo at night while on the roost then do the a massive poo in the morning for a few days in a row.. Then I know someone is going broody.. Sure enough I have 2 gone full broody today, I knew it was coming so I saved some eggs :jumpy

I've had EE's RSL, BSL, RIR, BR and Bantam Mix.

I have had RSLs go broody and raise chicks and ducklings for me, and they aren't supposed to be broody oriented chickens. Not sure about the others. You may be lucky or unlucky, depending on how you perceive it!
