I have some with a black silkie hen and a cemani rooster. Some have silkie feathers and some have regular feathers. The silkie ones have the bantam trait and are smaller. Some with the regular feathers have a small crested head. They all have feathered legs and and five toes.
Well, nature literally took its course and a coyote got the rooster and hen. When the chicks grew a little we ended up with 3 roosters. All of the roosters looked like cemanis with feathered legs. One was a late bloomer and to his great fortune, wasn’t crowing yet, on the night the coyotes came back. They got the two other roosters while everyone else quietly hid in the bushes. Now he has his ladies, well sisters. They had chicks which are still young. The only difference I’ve noted with these is that I have two that don’t have feathered legs so to the untrained eye they look like cemanis. There is only one minor detail, 5 toes. I don’t know which eggs came from which hen because a had a dominant hen who was stealing everyone’s eggs. I finally had to bring some in and put them in the incubator. She was shoving them under her chest and there were so many that they were coming out the back so she wasn’t able to incubate them all. I was too late for several. I ended up with 6 incubated chicks and 6 hen raised.
