What were the parents?

It looks sort of like a blue. But it's a bit off.

Looks like a Smoky, but if I remember right, this mutation is one that exists in a laboratory setting.

First time I've seen it of that shade. Especially on the wing feathers.

The mother is either my blue or black hen and father is a blue splash mix.

Okay, good to know, so the chick is more likely blue then. Such an interesting shade.

Someone in an older thread that was working on Lavender Silkied Ameraucanas, had what appeared to be smokey pop up in their breeding program.

So, not entirely gonna rule it out.

Just looks like Blue to me, too. These are not Silkies by breed, but my silkied Blue Cochin bantams looked similar to this as chicks. Blue just seems to look darker on silkied feathering a lot of the time.

These were my silkied Blues around 3 weeks old and the same birds now. (Hank was not yet named at 3 weeks, but he was the fifth to hatch, hence Baby 5 on his baby picture )
