Hi - I'm new to the forum and new to chickens. My little Silkie flock is 2 months old today. I have 2 black, 2 buff and 10 white chicks. When one of my black chicks was 4 weeks old it got it's head stuck when I was moving the coop. I found it quickly, but it was very lethargic and kept it's eyes closed. I thought it was dying, so I laid it in a hay bed out of the sun. A friend of mine laid hands on the chick and asked God to take it quickly or heal it. In a few minutes it peeped, craned it's neck and opened its eyes. I took it inside, put its beak in water and put it in a box with a blanket for about 30 minutes. It seemed fine, but when I do their supervised free ranging it seems to always be off on its own. Two weeks ago it got a slightly grazed when it walked into the path of my horse. The hoof just hit it slightly. It seemed ok. Today it did not really want to move far from the coop and kept wobbling its neck from time to time. It eats and drinks normally and otherwise seems ok. Just the occasional wobble and out of flock behavior. What's wrong??? It's the black chick in my profile picture. Thanks for your help! Lori

Thank you for your help and direction. The link is also very useful. The chick looked good this am when I left for work and I will get the vitamins you suggested. I'm hoping I can help it before the symptoms get worse. I so appreciate your time and expertise! Lori
