I have a staggered batch in the incubator. Last night the first baby hatched. I left her inside to dry overnight. This morning none of the other eggs have pipped so I removed her. Not sure when the next will hatch. The furthest out is about 6 days.

I want to get her a buddy so it doesn’t stress her out. My other chicks are 3 weeks old and rowdy.
What breed is good with Silkies ?
The local feed store said at least 2 weeks before they get any silkies in. I’m going to check Tractor Supply in the next town over today.

If you have no luck at tractor supply then what I always do with my chickens and ducks is I put a little mirror or stuffed animal while I wait for more to hatch! If not I recommend a polish for your silkie!

Thanks for all the advice.
I did put a mirror and a little stuffed buddy in there. She can hear the older chicks as they are all in the same room just different brooders.
I’m just finishing up with work and heading to Tractor. I know it doesn’t have to be a Silkie just wanted something else similar in size and temperament. 🤞
