Silkie chick

I have a silkie chick that a few days old. When it drinks or eats, it throws its head up in the air and goes up and down. It is a strange behavior. What causes this? What can I do?

I replied on your other thread. Its a good idea not to make duplicate posts for the same issue, it clutters up the forum. Something I did forget to mention in my other response, this is a pretty common issue with Silkies. Lots of folks have experienced it, including myself. Theres a Silkie thread in the Breeding, Genetics and Showing section of the forum, theres a lot of great info, pictures and people there. Its a long thread, but well worth the time it takes to read through it, especially if you're new to Silkies
