HeiHei is my Pennies protector. He stands watch when she goes in to lay her daily egg. He's a little off when try to eat and mate so I give him extra attention.

Yzmo is just a wishful roo. He tries to fake that he has food for the ladies but they all know he is fibbing. SMH... Poor guy.

Hi, and welcome! I want to see those Silkie chickens! This is just for fun, and there is no prize, but don't worry, there will be a winner for each category. (If anyone would like to help by volunteering for judging, please let me know! ) I love Silkie chickens and would love to see yours as well. Alright, here are the rules for this competition:

While I love all chickens, this competition is for Silkie chickens only, so please refrain from posting chickens that aren't Silkies. (But feel free to comment, etc.) Please no more than three entries. The competition ends on 9/20/2020, and I will do my best to announce the winner on that day. Tell us a bit about this Silkie! (Optional): Mochi is a very friendly White Silkie Bantam chick and loves to run up to me when I come to check on her and the other chicks. Her favorite thing to do is snuggle up in my palm and if it's sunny, she likes to sunbathe on her daily excursions outside. (As I said above, this is of Mochi when she was a chick. Now, she's 20ish weeks and much more different.)

I love the iridescent feathering, and his mother was our favored alhpa hen(now expired), but she is still with us in those brown spots. He just has a gentle soul being the only one who survived and was reared by his broody mom so he has no peers. He could be emo.

Handsome for sure! That's so sweet of him to keep watch on an injured hen!

Sweet or typical middle of the pack rooster behavior? She can't peck him or run away. Regardless he stayed with her like that for about 1 week after my lawnmower found that broody hen. She is all healed up and feathered out now and only needed the bottom third of a wing amputated by me. Not recommended but it was the fastest way I have yet to find to break a broody.

Oh, wow! That's an incredible story! I’m glad she's doing better.

this is Ji Ji the splash silkie roo...he's from Asheville NC and now a daddy of a part silkie/Belgian d'uccle and part silkie/white crested blue polish!!
As this is a younger pic, he's now 15 months old and loves the ladies!! probably too much.... he also like to point to the ground and cluck when he wants a treat. A whole lot of personality!

Can't believe I didn't see this until now! Heihei and Yzmo are both very handsome roosters! I love their personalities, too! Poor Yzmo....
