Help, my silkie hen is not looking good. She is twisting her head and running into things can't walk properly and stumbles around.
Please help. She is mothering 7 baby chicks, the chicks are all fine.

Give her some electrolytes or water with a little sugar in it. Try to get her eating some scrambled egg and watery chicken feed. Get some vitamin E softgels and give her 400 IU daily in to her beak. How old is your silkie? How long had she been broody? Is she overheated?

A twisted neck (torticolis) which we call wry or crook neck in chickens, is a neurological symptom. It can happen after head or neck trauma, a vitamin E or B1 thiamine deficiency, and is seen in some serious diseases including Mareks and a few others. Usually vitamin E is given along with a bit of scrambled egg daily for selenium for a week or two. Make aure that she can get water and food, or you will need to hand feed her.
