I have too many boys alreadyI’m saying cockerel still. Can you keep him?
UnderstandableI have too many boys already![]()
How many girls do you have? I have 7 silkie roosters total, but in different coops. 4 in the bantam coop, & 3 in the mixed flock coop.Well I have 3 boys already and they fight, 1 is seperated with hens in another coop and he fights through the fence.. top rooster occasionally has drops of blood on his comb and yesterday a bit of a gash near his eyehe's ok though now. .. so 4 boys will not work
I love partridge colour and red leakage so would like to keep him.. I think my top rooster needs to go soon, he is nice to hens, but he doesn't fertilise anymore.
Only 14 chickens total. 3 boys (2 roosters and a cockerel) and now Easter a possibly boy so will be 4. .. I do have 2 coops, 1 rooster in with 2 girls in smaller coop. How many girls do you have? They have a mix of different hens, in their coops, & fighting is minimal between the roosters.
Sounds like they're trying to take the place of the Alpha, which is normal. My mixed flock coop goes through a full Alpha switch every year.
How many hens do you have with all the boys? ... Although every rooster is different, some need /want more hens and some ok with just 1.How many girls do you have? I have 7 silkie roosters total, but in different coops. 4 in the bantam coop, & 3 in the mixed flock coop.
