Silkie colouring

I have just hatched 2 eggs from my White hen & White cockerel. I have no previous experience of the colours that are underlying the White, as I understand it the white can be dominant, and 'covering' a different colour. The Chick that has just hatched is this colour



The other one is yellow chick coloured all over. Any ideas as to what the colouring of the one in the picture will be? is it potentially a Splash? When my blues hatched they were a grey colour as chicks.

Any input much appreciated, but please don't send me to an online genetics calculator as I don't understand them, lol.

If the parents are both white, then that chick will also be white. All, or the majority, of White Silkies are recessive white, not dominant white.

I had a Silki hatch out that color and it ended up being white... but only had 4 toes so he found a new home.

The one on the right we believe will most defiantly be white but the one on the left???

The one on the left looks to possibly be a splash. That's the problem with white...you sometimes don't know what is under the white "paint" so to speak.

No, silkies, should have 5 toes per foot. This is different than most breeds which do have four toes per foot.

No, I just went out to count my Silkies toes and she had 4 toes on each foot AND so did my rooster!!!
