Silkie Contest! *CLOSED!*

Ok, this is Silkie Fancy Pants, my one and only Silkie. Silke arrived in a batch of eggs from TheoneandonlySilkie and like it's brothers and sisters started forming right off the bat. Unfortunately I had to go out of town to a training and my sister-in-law forgot to add water to the bator and humidity was down to less than 10% for a couple of days right at the end of the cycle. All of Silkies siblings were shrink-wrapped by the membrane but Silkie managed to survive and although it was a hard birth and required many hours of stress of worry from the human family, Silkie finally arrived with a squawk and a growl.
Silke's interests are: Eating, being carried, eating, being petted, eating, chasing the ducks, eating, doing nose dives into the duck pool, eating, and curling up for the night with Pudster the cat.
I don't know what sex Silkie is, but I think it's coloring is Buff.
Silkie is a Prima Dona and knows that he/she is the only one of their kind here and lords it over the other fowl.
That is until I can scrounge some more Silkie eggs!

This is my White Silkie hen with her first clutch. She is a year old. She is in a big pen off the ground because we are building a new barn. She didn't get the concept at first for setting eggs in the nest box. She would roll them out of the box and try to set on the bottom of the cage. Of course, the eggs would roll all around, so she was never sitting on all of them. Everyday, I would put the eggs back in the nestbox and she finally got it! Now we have six new babies! I am a Cochin lover at heart and just started raising Silkies last year. Both breeds are very gentle and docile even as mothers. I am having fun raising both breeds.

This is my splash silkie roo, creatively named, "Splash". He was the only one who made it out of a bunch of shipped eggs, that the PO lost for a few days. He is a doll and has finall started crowing now that he is no longer penned with the "big boys". I took this photo a few days ago.
ETA: I forgot to say, he will be a year old around Thanksgiving!
